Astronomy in school
Workshop ‘How to understand the Universe’
This workshop is meant to give teachers a firm understanding of the Universe around us, enabling them to teach more confidently about astronomy, and with more tools to make their lessons fun.
The major goal of this workshop is to inspire teachers, to cause a ‘Big Bang’ of understanding, of being able to visualise the Universe around us: our Solar System, the stars in the ‘neighbourhood’, the Milky Way and beyond. Only with that ability will a teacher be able to spark an understanding of the Universe in his or her pupils.
This two-day workshop is in Dutch, but it could be possible to provide an English version. Part of the course material is in English, but the three course books and the poster set are for now only available in Dutch.
