MDL-MPL - Astroset Moon and Planets (Dutch)
Learn about the motions of the Moon and the planetsThe Dutch language Astroset Maan en planeten (Moon & Planets) was made to help you understand the motions of the Moon and the planets.
The set (of five plates, two of them printed double sided) consists of the Table Planetarium (showing planets up to Mars), the Earth-Moon model, an ellipse instrument and a special rules to determine the distances of the planets the Table Planetarium, also of the planets that are not presented by the planetarium.
Table Planetarium
The Table Planetarium illustrates the motions of the planets: their eastward (and sometimes westward, or retrograde) movement, the Zodiac and the ecliptic, important positions in their orbits, like conjunctions, opposition and elongation, and more. The bottom is 28.5 cm wide, the edge is 83 mm high.
Earth-Moon model
The Earth-Moon model helps you understand all about the movement of the Moon around the Earth: why the Moon seems to change in shape in the course of a month (the phases of the Moon, like New Moon and First Quarter) and why we have Sun and Moon eclipses. The model is 14 cm wide, 17 cm deep and 12 cm high.

You will need three wooden beads of 8 mm, two of 10 and two of 15 mm diameter as well as seven pieces of 6 cm long wooden sticks of 1,5 mm diameter (these are available in the DeLuxe set; see below).
