Planispheres for Planetariums, Science Centers and other astronomy outreach organisations

Planispheres for your Planetarium, Science Center or Museum

The Planisphere still is the best tool to learn how to recognise constellations and stars. It's fun to use, it's very informative, easy to 'store' and use on a clear night - AND it will be accurate  for the next 400 years! It's Your Best Guide to the Stars!

What can a Customised Planisphere mean for you?

What could this mean for your Planetarium or the Astronomy department of your Science Center or Museum?

Gift Shop
For many visitors a visit to a planetarium is their first conscious, and most striking experience of the night sky. You know yourself that you'll never forget seeing stars and constellations in a planetarium.
Visitors want to take that experience home with them, a piece of the Night Sky to explore themselves, with family and friends. The only thing they can take it home for that purpose is a Planisphere!

Students
Planispheres can be of great service to teachers, teaching their students about the night sky AND about Celestial Mechanics: our Planispheres are very accurate and have very special features that are useful for assignments, like Right Ascension and Declination and an ecliptic very accurately divided in the days of the year.

Promotion
Visitors who bought a Planisphere out of enthusiasm about their visit to your planetarium will show their 'asset' to friends and family, which is good for you. Besides, you can use it as a kind of business card for people that are or may be important for your organisation.

Other materials for astronomy education

Build-it-yourself astronomy instruments and models:

Apart from Planispheres, we carry some other interesting products for your visitors and students.
We have a complete series of BIY instruments and models, but not all of these are available 'from the shelf' in English.

Solar System scale model - scale 1:100 billion
This unique and easy to set up scale model in cards was published in English in 2020, so is very up to date. The scale is perfect for creating a Planet Walk of 60m, or 100 m, or even a couple of hundred metres, according to what you want and depending on the available space. See this page.

Astroset Moon and Planets
This is a BIY set of a Table Planetarium and Earth-Moon model. These are in Dutch, but as the models themselves doesn't have much text, that should not be a problem for other users than Dutch-speakers. We provide an English User Guide! See this page.

BIY Instruments for kids
We have three BIY instruments: a Star Wheel, a Sundial and a Quadrant (to measure angles/heights). See this page (half way this page).
We do not have the latest models available in English (we do have Star Wheels for 40° and 50°N and Sundials for 50°N).
However, they are low-cost products and we can provide these as customised products as well! Prices on request.

Posters
We have also made a series of six astronomy posters (and a set of two for young kids), in Dutch. Two others (Milky Way and Galaxies) were designed but not yet printed. Another two are planned.
Again, all posters can be provided as customised products. Prices on request.
